We are excited to soon welcome this 1960 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite to The Forge Prees. This home market, right-hand drive car is presented to show standard and represents a prime example of a U.K. market top-spec vehicle.

The car has undergone an extensive restoration, with no expense spared by the previous owner. Since completion, it has seen minimal use and remains in outstanding condition. It is a car that truly needs nothing.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate confirms that this Austin Healey Sprite Mark 1 retains its original specifications. It features Chassis Number AN5/39792, Engine Number 9C-U-H/39978, and Body Number BAE/39556. Built as a right-hand-drive, home-market model, it was finished in Cherry Red with a Red interior and Black hood. The car was manufactured on 23rd May 1960 and dispatched to Austin Healey dealer Kennings Limited in Walsall, Staffordshire, on 27th May 1960. Factory-fitted options included a rev counter, front bumpers, a toughened glass windscreen, and a heater. The original registration mark, 568 KDH, remains proudly displayed.
 

Restoration highlights:

• Full metal body strip, significant repairs, and respray in the original Cherry Red colour

• Complete engine rebuild by a renowned Spridget race specialist, with a 'fast road' specification for the original 948cc engine and ribcase gearbox

• New prop shaft and refurbished differential by Heathrow Transmissions

• Powder-coated steel wheels, new tyres, and chrome hub caps

• Refurbished brightwork and red interior

• Motalita steering wheel and rebuilt dashboard instruments

• New petrol tank, new 15-leaf rear springs, new front coil springs, and new dampers all around

• Fresh brakes, brake lines, and drums
