1971 MGB ROADSTER

VKF 112 has covered around 35000 miles since a complete bare shell rebuild that was carried out to an excellent standard during the mid 1990’s. The MGB was taken back to a bare shell, shot blasted and completely rebuilt with various brand-new panels. Once rebuilt, the shell was prepared and painted, built up with new trims, rubbers, chrome and fully re-furbished mechanically and electrically. The work was all carried out by a Derbyshire restorer who continued to maintain the car after completion. Invoices itemising thousands of pounds worth of new parts and labour from the rebuild are with the car, along with some photographs showing the bare shell.
During the first ten years since restoration, the MGB covered an impressive 30,000 miles and invoices on file show evidence of excellent maintenance. In 2014 when the MGB had changed hands, it had covered little over 33000 miles since completion, and over the past nine years around 2000 miles have been covered with regular servicing and MOT's,. Within the last 500 miles the MGB has had new front brake pads, front brake discs, rear brake shoes, braided brake hose set, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, front wheel bearings, rear wheel cylinders, new thermostat gasket, front hub seal and silicone coolant hoses.
The MGB for its longer term owner has proven completely reliable and an ideal classic for summer open top motoring. The car is mechanically very strong with an excellent engine holding impressive oil pressure, smooth four speed with overdrive gearbox, and feels perfectly tight on the road with impressive handling and braking. Having had a top-class restoration, careful use and excellent maintenance, the MGB over 25 years on since restoration is in superb mechanical order. VKF 112 presents incredibly well with an excellent bodyshell and generally has a nicely aged feel to it. The underside is first class having been shot blasted and rebuilt, the paint finish so many years on is still lovely throughout and the MGB has a superbly presented interior and engine bay. This MGB won't disappoint, it's a gorgeous looking car that has aged nicely since rebuild, and on the road is delightful.
